Cantata – 35 x 47″ $3,500 – Acrylic on Canvas
The musical term cantata comes from the Latin canatre which means to sing and the composition is usually a combination of instruments, solos, duets and a chorus. For me, this painting sways and sings with the complexity of colors that layer and complement one another ranging from deep black bass notes to a chorus of coral swaying through the lower part of the piece.
It also can be reminiscent of a sunrise or sunset with as the deep yellow expands into a brilliance of lightness and open space.
